Love Island star Shane Lynch has confessed he was heavily into witchcraft and even joined a cult.

Shane has since found Jesus but he was so involved in the nightmare rituals of the occult his life was in turmoil.

In a sensational confession, the ex- Boyzone star poured out his heart to former Playboy model Colleen Shannon during his stint on Love Island.

Shane, who has never spoken publicly about his witchcraft past, admitted: “I was with a cult.”

The 30-year-old singer added: “I was into witchcraft heavily and before I knew it I was deep in there and I didn’t know a way out.”

Former singer Colleen, 28, talked frankly about desperate periods of their life while on the tropical island in Fiji last week.

And it was during his heart to heart with stunning Colleen, that Shane dropped the witchcraft bombshell that has stunned even his closest pals.

Shane, who believes in ghosts, recently became a born again Christian after he was involved in a high-speed car crash during his career as a racing driver.

And he told Colleen that it was God who saved him from his witchcraft hell. Showing off his tattoos to the stunning model he said: “This cross on my chest was when I was into God.”

And referring to his cult torment he said: “My life turned around when I got on my knees and asked for help.”

Shane’s former manager Louis Walsh was stunned by the confession and admitted he knew nothing about the dabbling with witchcraft.

Louis Walsh said: “I’ve never heard a word about that before.”

He added: “Shane is a good guy and I’m delighted to see him doing well.

“He’s been through some tough times, what with the break up of his marriage and crashing cars all the time when he tried to be a rally driver.

“But I know he found God and he’s a much happier person now. I really do hope he wins the show, he deserves to win it. I’m delighted for him.

“I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Shane will win Celebrity Love Island.

“He was never any trouble at all when I managed Boyzone.”

Shane is 7/4 on favourite to win the show and pal Colleen is second favourite with Paddy Power at 6/5.

Shane’s, sisters, twins Keavy and Edele Lynch, found fame as members of the girl group ironically named B’Witched.

And he once confessed to dabbling in the occult as a teenager with his sisters.

Shane said: “One time I was messing with a Ouija board and me and my sisters made contact with a girl from the other side.

“It was a really weird experience.”

The star separated from his wife Esther Bennett of the girl group Eternal in July 2000.

Tattooed Shane was the most controversial member of Boyzone towards the end of their career.

He once dropped his trousers while modelling in a celebrity fashion show and also unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade against the media during an awards show in the Point Theatre.

He was also once involved in a punchup with rapper P Diddy in a Dublin night-club in a row over seating for his then wife Esther Bennett.

And although Boyzone split in 2000, he has not kept out of the limelight.

Shane was in the second series of the channel 4 reality TV show, The Games 2004, and received a gold medal.
