A suspected member of the German cult group of Okrika in Okrika local government area of Rivers State, one Daubiye Briggs has been arrested by the police at Trans-Amadi Industrial Area, Port Harcourt.

The suspect was arrested with the help of some youths of Okujagu community in Okrika Local Government Area when he was identified with the mark on his back skin.

A police source said the suspect had been the brain behind some acts of lawlessness and attacking of policemen as well as military personnel within Port Harcourt and its environs.

The source said when he was arrested and brought to the station, he made some confessional statements that is helping the police in their investigation.

Meanwhile, the police at Rumuji Division of the state command have arrested one Onyemaechi Akpovu from Mgbuoele Ndele in Emohua local government area of Rivers State for armed robbery.

The suspect, Onyemaechi Akpovu, is said to be a member of an-armed robbery gang that have been operating along Ndele/Elele Alimini axis of the East/West Road, Port Harcourt.

It was gathered that the suspect, who was among those wanted by the police of recent, has confessed being a member of a gang led by one Apopular, surname yet unknown and the address.

He was arrested on June 1, this year by the police at about 1.0 pm, following tip-off.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Mrs Ireju Barasua, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who confirmed the arrests said investigations are in progress.
