Controversial Faith Healer Coming To Atlanta
ATLANTA — John Pruitt examines two controversial stories [Video] on Action News Primetime tonight on WSB-TV Channel 2 at 8:00 p.m.
The first involves a Brazilian healer who is in Atlanta for the first public visit to the U.S. in 30 years.
Some people call him a miracle worker and thousands of people around the world flock to his facility in Brazil to be spiritually, emotionally, or physically healed.
People from all over the nation are flying in to see John of God spiritually heal in a Cobb County hotel for three days.
While John of God does both visible and “invisible” surgeries in Brazil, he will not be performing any physical surgeries during his visit to Atlanta.
Channel Two reporter Jeff Dore travels to Brazil to see what happens to Atlantans and others who go to see him and we hear from Atlanta experts on why John of God has obtained such a superstar status in healing.
Also, the program follows a Roswell family’s fight to get their child, Jackson Bortz, out of state custody. DFCS removed Jackson from his home after the mysterious death of his infant brother Dylan.
We talk to DFCS Director, Mary Dean Harvey about how often children are removed from the home by DFCS investigators & police.
We’ll hear many perspectives on this hot-button issue and see what rights parents have in these situations.
