NAME_ Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

TITLE _ General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God.

AGE-BIRTH DATE _ 64; March 2, 1942 in Ifewara, Nigeria.

EDUCATION _ Graduated from Nigeria’s University of Ife in 1967; later received a master’s degree in hydrodynamics and a Ph.D in applied mathematics at the University of Lagos. He lectured at the University of Lagos and later at the University of Ilorin in southwestern Nigeria.

EXPERIENCE_ Started attending Redeemed Church in 1973; became a pastor two years later. Adeboye took over a parish in Nigeria’s largest city, Lagos, and served as English translator for the church’s founder, Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, who preached in the local Yoruba language. In 1981, Adeboye was selected to head the entire church following Akindayomi’s death. He encouraged rapid international expansion; introduced revival-style worship, including music, dancing and healing ceremonies.

FAMILY_ Wife, Folu Adeboye, is also a Redeemed Church pastor. They have four children.
