Christians offered marital thrills
Sex toys and aids can be ordered from a new Christian website, Wholly Love. Its message is: “Sex is a great gift from God — we stock products to enhance your sex life with your spouse!”
Many items are being offered at a January sale price on the site, which went live this month. The top seller so far is chocolate body paint, which comes with a brush. Also in the range of products on offer are body stockings, “lovers’ weekend kits”, fishnet briefs, and vibrators.
Wholly Love has been set up by Stan and Stella Hagarty. They describe themselves as a happily married young couple with three children, and say that there is no reason why Christians should not host Wholly Love parties to sell the products in a home or church environment. They already run a business in South Wales, but plan to sell it in order to concentrate on the new venture.
Mrs Hagarty said on Tuesday that the site had caused some controversy, but she believed Christians needed to be positive about sex and its place in marriage. “We are constantly told as Christians what we can’t do, but there is little promotion of what we can.”
She said that the site did not stock anything to do with pornography or nudity, nor does it sell sado-masochistic or anal items. “We were inspired when we were away for the weekend on our tenth wedding anniversary, and went into Ann Summers for some massage oil. Some of the stuff in there we found very distasteful, but some, of course, can be very helpful. The idea grew from there.”
The site is also offering advice articles on related issues, and plans to set up a counselling service later in the year.
