Royal News Duchess of York ‘recharged’ by Russian faith healer
The Duchess of York has revealed how she has her energy “recharged” by a Russian faith healer.
Sarah Ferguson expresses her praise for guru Alla Svirinskaya, who she has been visiting for two years, in a foreword to the healer’s new book.
The ex-wife of Britian’s Prince Andrew writes: “Whenever I go to see her, she recharges my energy and enables me to cope with the many challenges and demands of my busy life.”
According to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, Svirinskaya – whose celebrity clients reportedly include Kylie Minogue and actress Liz Hurley – cleanses people’s energy with breathing exercises and chanting.
She also encourages them to dispel negative energy from their homes with bell-ringing, beeswax candles and, more bizarrely, bee-keeping. Last year, the duchess was reported to have shown an interest in the mystic Jewish faith Kabbalah.
Sources claimed Sarah discussed the religion with Kabbalah guru Rabbi Michael Berg in London after Hollywood actress Demi Moore, a devout follower, arranged a meeting. A spokesperson for Sarah admitted that the Duchess was interested in learning more about the controversial religion, which counts Madonna, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton among its followers.
But he added: “She’s not declaring herself a Kabbalahist. But she has a lot of interest in spirituality, and she does have friends who are followers of Kabbalah and she’s interested in it and she’s pursuing that interest.”
