A man was shot to death at World Changers Church International in College Park. The shooting occurred Saturday night. The church is the ministry of Dr. Creflo Dollar.
Around 9:00 p.m. Saturday a man was shot and died. He was in the backstage area. It is unknown who the victim is.
11Alive News was informed by members of the church that there are no Saturday services. No one would be in the building except the security detail or someone possibly from the cleaning crew.
11Alive News has learned that a Fulton County police officer was called to the scene after security officers were dealing with a combative man.
Authorities say the man was unruly. He started to fight with the police officer. They say the officer followed what they called the protocol of justifiable force.
They say the officer used his baton against the subject and struck him. They say at that point the subject went for the officers gun. The officer then pulled his gun and discharged it, shooting and killing the man.
Nothing is known about the victim. It is not known why he was being unruly or how he got into the building.
