Investigators Search Near Cathlamet For Bones

Investigators were searching Saturday for the remains of a child who authorities believe was killed and beheaded by her mother
Police were looking for Kyeimah Spann’s remains four miles west of Cathlamet, near the Oregon-Washington border.
Samara Spann, 30, faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her 6-year-old daughter. Investigators say she admitted to killing the girls, cutting off her head, and then dumping the body in the Elochoman River in Wahkiakum County.
Spann reportedly gave investigators directions that led them to the location of Saturday’s search.
Prosecutors said she killed the girl because she was influenced by a cult and believed the girl was a demon.
Three bones were recovered, but it is unclear whether the bones are human. Investigators expect to be back at the scene next week to continue searching.
