The pop babe wrote in an open letter posted on her website, BritneySpears.com, that the “Material girl” singer helped pull her back from the brink of self-destruction after enlightening her about the mystical Jewish religion, Internet portal femalefirst reported.
She wrote: “Madonna first introduced Kabbalah to me at a time in my life when it was much needed. It has helped me get rid of a lot of negative influences that were guiding me down the wrong path.”
The “Toxic” singer claims that becoming more involved in the religion has allowed her to regain control over her life and helped her get her life back on track after splitting with her first love, Justin Timberlake.
Britney, who is now married to former dancer Kevin Federline, was introduced to the sect in 2003 after striking up a friendship with Madonna.
