A distressed woman yesterday told a court how her mother had approved of her having a sexual relationship with a religious cult leader when she was just 14 years old.
The woman cried at times as she told magistrate David O’Connor, in Nowra Local Court, about the occasions on which William “Little Pebble” Kamm had taken her to a Figtree motel, and a Corrimal flat, for sex.
On the first occasion she said she’d resisted his overtures, causing him to be angry with her on their return journey to his cult’s Cambewarra compound.
“On the way back he was very angry and said he was very disappointed with me and that I shouldn’t have made him waste his money for nothing,” she said.
The woman, who cannot be identified, said she and her mother had spoken about the matter the next day.
Her mother said it would be okay if she “went” with Kamm because it was God’s will.
Some days later she received a letter from Kamm in which he promised he would be gentle with her next time, and told her it was God’s will that they have sexual intercourse.
The woman detailed other occasions on which she claimed to have sex with Kamm, including a time he put her and another female in interconnecting rooms in the motel. The other female had also been chosen by Kamm to be a “queen”, she said.
The alleged victim agreed with Lindy Rogers for the Director of Public Prosecutions that being a queen meant she could not get married to anyone else.
The woman told the court queens were not allowed to be alone with a man, and were not allowed to have a sexual relationship with anyone but Kamm.
They were also not allowed to talk about being a queen.
The consequences of not agreeing to these conditions were not explained however later she received letters which said she was not behaving like a queen. “Something” would happen if she did not follow the rules, she said.
The woman claimed she had had sex with Kamm for several years until she became pregnant.
In relation to this alleged victim, Kamm has pleaded not guilty to one charge of inciting an aggravated act of indecency, and three counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
On Monday the court heard that the NSW Crime Commission was now involved in the case and more charges were likely.
The case was adjourned until August 4, when another alleged victim will give evidence.
